WEST HARTFORD, CT — One week after Memorial Day weekend, the local community is looking for volunteers to collect flags at a West Hartford cemetery planted as part of holiday observances.

The American Legion Post 96 said it needs help to collect the small American flags and flag holders from the veterans’ graves at Fairview Cemetery, 200 Whitman Ave., on Saturday, May 31, rain or shine.

The collection begins at 8:30 a.m. and should take about one hour.
