WEST HARTFORD, CT — Anyone who is raising young children or has already raised them knows bedtime can be a veritable minefield of problems testing the sanity of any parent.
But one local author has crafted a new children's book that addresses just that issue and a special event in West Hartford at a local bookstore will celebrate the release of that creation.
On Thursday, Oct. 27, West Hartford resident Daniel M. Howell, a children's book author, will officially launch "The Four Bees — Bee 4 Goodnight" at The Next Chapter Bookstore at 13 S. Main St., West Hartford.

Howell's work is about a family of worker bees navigating the pitfalls of bedtime, which any parent can attest can be a trying experience.
He writes about the creative, nighttime routine of the "Comb" family (Poppa, Mama, sister and brother (Wana-Bee).

According to a website promoting the book, the four "B's" are "bath," "brush," "book" and "bed" and they describe the regular routine the Comb family does with their children.
The celebration will take place at the bookstore from noon to 5 p.m., with interactive book readings by Howell set for 1 to 4 p.m.
Meanwhile, visitors will also see a colorful, full-size and interactive trailer — affectionately dubbed the "Buzz Buggy," where children and families can see, first-hand, the bedtime experiences of the Comb family.
"Daniel M. Howell is a multifaceted, creative author specializing in using visual storytelling in conjunction with the written word to create a bridge between parents and their children in a routine-oriented way that is educational, fun and emotionally engaging," reads an announcement of Thursday's event.
