WEST HARTFORD, CT — The local health department has put out a video teaching folks how to stay safe both in the kitchen and in the community during the winter.
And potentially life-saving information is just a mouse click or phone tap away.
The West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District recently released the video, which includes two presentations by area experts.

One is from Nicole Gibeau, who is the environmental health program coordinator at the health department.
Her presentation touches on food safety tips when it comes to cooking and serving a wide variety of culinary creations this time of year, namely, how to handle perishable items.

The health department program also features a presentation from Melissa Marquis, who is a public health emergency response specialist with the health district.
Her forum focuses on disasters, being prepared for emergencies, and maintaining one's health during the winter months.
