West Hartford Eyes Pro-Senior Designation, Special Meeting Is Today
The public is invited to a special forum at a local senior center today (Tuesday, May 20) at 10:30 a.m.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — Residents are invited to a special meeting today (Tuesday, May 20) to discuss ways West Hartford can achieve a special designation showing it is good for seniors.
The West Hartford Senior Citizens Advisory Committee invites residents to attend their meeting on Tuesday, May 20, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Bishop's Corner Senior Center, 15 Starkel Road, West Hartford.
There, it will launch a comprehensive exploration of the criteria needed to be designated as an “Age-Friendly Community.”

The West Hartford Age Friendly Initiative is a long-term collaborative effort between town staff and community volunteers that will study and make recommendations regarding eight major quality of life sectors with emphasis on implications for older adults.
Today's forum was originally slated for the Elmwood Senior Center, but it was moved to Bishop's Corner due to elevator issues at Elmwood.
