West Hartford Firefighters Quickly Save Burning Home: WHFD
The late-night blaze Sunday was discovered in the walls of a house, with the building deemed habitable after the incident.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local firefighters swarmed a burning residence late Sunday night and were able to knock down the fire in the walls fast enough to save the home.
The West Hartford Fire Department said local dispatchers received a call at about 11:16 p.m. Sunday reporting a fire in the wall surrounding a fireplace in a single-family home on Rillbank Terrace.
West Hartford fire and police were immediately dispatched to the scene.

"The first arriving fire unit reported a light smoke condition on the first floor," wrote WHFD Deputy Chief Neal Sinatro in a release issued Monday morning.
"Further investigation revealed an active fire in the wall surrounding a fireplace on the first floor of the home."

As a result, the Hartford Fire Department was called into West Hartford to cover for the myriad West Hartford FD units at the scene, he said.
The WHFD said all residents had safely evacuated the home, and firefighters were able to quickly put the fire out.
The incident was declared under control at 11:42 p.m., with the West Hartford Fire Marshal’s office investigating the fire's origin and cause, the WHFD said.
The West Hartford Building Official’s Office said the single-family home could be reoccupied by the residents.
No injuries were sustained by the residents or fire personnel operating on the scene, fire officials said.
