West Hartford Fiscal Manager Honored For Donating Services

The veteran financial advisor volunteers one day a week to help folks in the greater Hartford area map out their fiscal futures.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A West Hartford resident who makes his living helping others plan their financial futures was recently honored for his volunteer time doing the same thing.

West Hartford resident James “Jim” Goldman recently earned an "Invest in Others Volunteer of the Year Award" honorable mention for his service as a JFS money coach." This is his third such award.

Professionally, Goldman is a senior vice president, financial advisor, and senior portfolio manager with RBC Wealth Management's Hartford-based Goldman Monroe Team.

Located in West Hartford, JFS (Jewish Family Services of Greater Hartford) is a nonprofit, "nonsectarian health and human services agency that provides culturally responsive basic needs support, mental health counseling, financial coaching, and more to Hartford County residents."

JFS served over 3,300 people last year, according to the agency.

Since 2008, Goldman has volunteered his advisory skills free of charge one day a week to help Greater Hartford residents face and resolve their financial challenges.

According to JFS, Goldman has helped hundreds of local individuals and families on the path to greater financial stability.

“Jim brings not only financial expertise but also deep commitment to his work with our clients," said JFS Chief Executive Officer Katie Hanley. "His guidance helps people move forward with dignity, confidence, and hope — values that are at the heart of JFS’s mission. We’re proud to call him a partner in this work.”

JFS will receive a $2,000 contribution from Invest in Others in honor of Goldman’s service.

Invest in Others is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2006 by LPL Financial, one of the largest independent broker-dealers in the United States.

“I'm pleased to receive this mention, and I’m even more pleased that JFS will benefit from it,” said Goldman. “I’m glad to have been able to help so many people improve their finances, and I look forward to continuing our work together.”
