Man Accused Of Sex Trafficking Children In Hartford: Police
The 27-year-old Waterbury resident is accused of trafficking two juveniles to perform sex acts in Hartford.

HARTFORD, CT — The Hartford Police Department's crackdown on human trafficking in the city continued Tuesday with the arrest of a Waterbury man.
According to the Hartford Police Department, Akeem Harris, 27, of 46 Vail St., Waterbury, was charged with two counts of trafficking persons and two counts of risk of injury to a minor on Tuesday, Dec. 23.
He is being held on a $1 million bond.

"In September 2025, the Hartford Police Department’s Special Investigations Division, in collaboration with the Regionalized Human Trafficking Task Force (RHTTF), initiated an investigation into reports of organized sex trafficking involving juveniles," wrote the HPD this week.
Police said the investigation revealed two juveniles were being trafficked through an online application and transported to a location in Hartford.

As a result of the investigation, probable cause was established, and an arrest warrant was approved by a Superior Court judge, charging Harris with multiple felony offenses.
On Tuesday, police said, detectives apprehended Harris without incident. He was subsequently charged and held on bond.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, and additional arrests are anticipated.
