West Hartford Forum Tuesday Could Help Save A Senior's Life
The town's senior citizens advisory board is hosting a special forum on how seniors can stay safe while walking and driving in town.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — The town's senior citizens advisory board is hosting a special event Tuesday, April 15, that just might save a life.
In recent years, West Hartford has seen a more-than-desired amount of pedestrian/roadway accidents affecting people in town, some of them senior citizens, and some of them fatal.
From 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, April 15, the West Hartford Senior Citizens Advisory Commission will meet at the Bishops Corner Senior Center, 15 Starkel Road, to discuss the issue.

It is hosting a panel discussion and forum called "Pedestrian & Road Safety For Older Adults," which will be moderated by the West Hartford Pedestrian & Bicycle Commission.
The panel talk will start at 10:30 a.m. after the commission's 10 a.m. meeting. Light refreshments will be available.

The panel will include:
• Ed Pawlak, chairman of the Pedestrian & Bicycle Commission
• Parker Sorenson, Civil Engineer II of the town's engineering division
• West Hartford Police Department officers Stephanie Hannigan and Jeffrey Swank of the WHPD Traffic Division.
