West Hartford Golf Club Rebuild Project To Celebrate Major Milestone
The Wampanoag Country Club on Friday is hosting a major milestone event on Friday, Feb. 7, as it rebuilds following a devastating fire.

WEST HARTFORD, CT – About 10 months after a fire destroyed the clubhouse at the Wampanoag Country Club in West Hartford, a key rebuilding milestone is this week.
On Friday, Feb. 7, the country club will have a special ceremony to celebrate the topping off of steel beams at the new clubhouse being built at 60 Wampanoag Drive, West Hartford.
The event will take place at 2 p.m., with club and town dignitaries expected to be in attendance.

Recently, the club released some details about the new building, whose construction was formally approved by the West Hartford Plan and Zoning Commission last October.

• The 33,500-square-foot, two-story facility replaces the historic 70-year-old structure.
• Substantial completion is scheduled for fall 2025
• Members and guests will "enjoy breathtaking views of the newly renovated Donald Ross-designed golf course from the first-level patio and the 2,400-square-foot rooftop terrace."
As part of the ceremony, the project team, building committee, and country club members will be able to sign the beam, preserving their link to the project in perpetuity.
"Once signed, KBE Building Corp. staff will lift the beam into place, adorned with an evergreen and both the American and Wampanoag Country Club flags—symbolizing pride and the building's structure coming to life," wrote the club in a statement.
