This service is available to West Hartford residents only, and folks should bring an ID. No commercial businesses allowed.
In addition, the Town of West Hartford will be collecting non-perishable food items at this event to stock the shelves of the local food pantry.
Paper collected by Infoshred is safely shredded on-site and then shredded again before being baled at Infoshred’s secure facility.
"All paper shredded and processed by Infoshred is recycled and turned into new materials like tissue paper, paper towels, and dental bibs, saving trees, protecting the environment, and keeping paper out of landfills," wrote the town in an announcement.
The limit is two copy paper boxes or equivalent, around 9 inches by 11 inches by 18 inches.
No plastic bags. No junk mail or envelopes and, when the truck is full, the event will end.
"Please bring sensitive documents only," wrote the town. "Before coming, separate junk mail, other non-sensitive paper, and envelopes, and recycle them in the curbside blue barrel. This event is very popular, and we want to accommodate all residents."
