West Hartford PD To Crack Down On Reckless Dirt Bike/ATV Rider Gangs: Police
The WHPD this week charged a 26-year-old man with stealing and recklessly driving such a vehicle.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — West Hartford police announced Wednesday they are cracking down on illegal ATV and dirt bike riders in town, and they want the public to help.On
Wednesday, the West Hartford Police Department announced that a 26-year-old suspect was taken into custody on Monday, Sept. 22, for doing just that, among other charges.
The West Hartford Police Department Community Support Unit arrested the man after observing a group of ATVs and dirt bikes recklessly and illegally operating on public roadways.

"A stolen dirt bike was recovered and towed, as well as an ATV that was illegally operating on the roadway," wrote the WHPD.
Police identified the suspect as being Abdunassier Abdumunem, 26, who was charged with reckless driving, operating under suspension, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, not having insurance, larceny of a motor vehicle, third-degree larceny, interfering with a police officer, and engaging police in pursuit.

He was released on $25,000 bond and will next appear in Hartford Superior Court on Oct. 23, according to online court records.
Meanwhile, the WHPD said reckless dirt bike and ATV riders are being sought by the department, asking for the public to help.
