West Hartford Police: Woman Drove Recklessly With Young Child in Car

Gabrielle Turgeon, 23, of Southington, faces numerous charges after allegedly weaving in and out of traffic on I-84 West with her 18-month-old son in the car.

A 23-year-old Southington woman is facing numerous charges after she was stopped by West Hartford police on July 30 for allegedly driving recklessly on I-84 with her young child in the car.

Gabrielle Turgeon, of 989 Old Turnpike Road, was pulled over on I-84 West after she was observed “weaving in and out of traffic” at a high rate of speed, according to police. She had her 18-month-old son in the car with her at the time, police said.

A search of the car revealed unspecified drug paraphernalia, according to police.

Turgeon was charged with failure to drive in the proper lane, risk of injury to a minor, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving, failure to signal and speeding.

Bond was set at $10,000. She is scheduled to appear in Superior Court on Aug. 8.
