West Hartford Vigil To Honor Pancreatic Cancer Victims

Thursday is the Ron Foley Foundation's World Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day, with a special event to honor cancer victims that night.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A West Hartford-based charitable foundation dedicated to the fight against pancreatic cancer is hosting a special candlelight vigil in town Thursday evening, Nov. 20.

Thursday is the Ron Foley Foundation's World Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day.

That's when the community is invited to go to the Veterans Memorial, located at the corner of North Main Street and Farmington Avenue in West Hartford Center, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

On World Pancreatic Cancer Day, guests will gather with families, loved ones, friends, and neighbors to "shine a light on pancreatic cancer," according to an event announcement.

"We’ll unite to remember and honor those touched by it and to raise awareness for the disease. Let’s see a sea of purple! Wear purple and join us on this special day," wrote the foundation.
