West Hartford Wants Folks To Compost, Collect Rainwater
The town wants folks to be more environmentally sound, and it is selling compost containers and rain barrels to help homeowners do that..
Town of West Hartford
WEST HARTFORD, CT — Compostable kitchen scraps are about 23 percent of what we throw away in the trash, and, as a result, people are invited to join West Hartford and decrease the volume of trash sent to garbage facilities in and out of state.
"This helps reduce methane and other greenhouse gas emissions and creates rich nutrients for our soil. Rain barrels, compost buckets, and other items are available for purchase," wrote the town.
