West Hartford Yard Waste Center Begins Saturday Hours April 5

The West Hartford Yard Waste & Recycling Center, 25 Brixton St., will reopen for Saturday service beginning April 5.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Now that the winter snow has melted, folks can see what fell in their yards over the winter.

Simply put, there's work to do and to help people out; the West Hartford Yard Waste & Recycling Center, 25 Brixton St., will reopen for Saturday service beginning April 5.

It will be open from 7 a.m. to noon, with the last vehicle accepted at 11:45 a.m.

Meanwhile, the West Hartford Department of Public Works, 17 Brixton St., will host special Saturday customer service hours for permit pick-up and purchase from 7 a.m. to noon on April 12, April 26, May 10, May 17, June 14, and June 21.

Permits may be purchased online for pick up at DPW or in person at DPW with a credit card, Wednesday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 3 PM. The office is closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m.

People should have their vehicle registration on hand when picking up the permit. Commercial or out-of-town vehicles are not allowed.

Day permits are available on an exception basis.
