West Hartford's 'Block Party' This Weekend To Help Others As Well
The event this weekend will offer food, fun, and entertainment, and also provide an opportunity to donate to the local food pantry.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The town is hoping folks can come out for one last outdoor community celebration before the cold-weather season fully arrives.
That celebration comes in the form of the second annual Community Block Party, which will take place at West Hartford Town Hall on Sunday, Nov. 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
West Hartford Town Hall is located at 50 S. Main St.

"Come celebrate our vibrant community and connect with town departments, schools, community organizations, friends, family, and neighbors. This is a free event and open to everyone—don’t miss it," wrote event organizers in a release.
Food donations
With federal SNAP food assistance benefits slated to cease this weekend, leaving folks in need hungry, community leaders are also using Sunday's event to collect food and financial donations to help the local food bank.
As a result, folks will be there to collect donations for the West Hartford Food Pantry and the Town That Cares Fund.
Among the high-priority items are: canned fruit, cereal, pasta, rice, peanut butter, soup, canned meats, snacks, hygiene products, and more.
People can also scan a QR code to donate to the Town That Cares Fund or do so online.
"Let’s show what community is all about—neighbors supporting neighbors," wrote organizers.
