West Hartford's Health Department Hosting Free Cancer Prevention Fair
The West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District is hosting the event Friday, July 31, at the Bloomfield Community Center.

WEST HARTFORD/BLOOMFIELD, CT — West Hartford residents are invited to learn how to prevent cancer at the West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District's free Cancer Prevention Fair.
It will take place on Thursday, July 31, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bloomfield Community Center, located near West Hartford at 330 Park Ave., Bloomfield.

The event will be a day filled with cancer prevention and healthy lifestyle services.
Visitors will be able to schedule a breast cancer screening with the Hartford Healthcare Mobile Van.

Other services provided are oral cancer screening, colorectal cancer screening, HIV/Hep C tests, wellness health screenings, strength/balance sessions, and yoga.
Numerous organizations will be in attendance, providing information and support.
Classes available during the day are:
• 10 a.m.: Yoga Session
• 11:30 a.m.: Strength & Balance Class
Folks are also encouraged to utilize the Mobile Mammography Van with Hartford Healthcare.
To do so, they can schedule a breast cancer screening by calling Sarah at 860-561-7901.
Services are available to insured individuals, those without insurance, and those with a high deductible.
This is offered to women between 35 and 40 who have not had a mammogram, as well as to women 40 and older who have not had one in over a year.
