WEST HAVEN, CT — A driver and several police officers were hospitalized after a vehicle went into the water off a dead-end street in West Haven, according to police. Police are advising motorists to avoid the area of Roberts Street and Ocean Avenue. West Haven police officers responded to reports of a vehicle in the water at the dead end of Roberts Street. Police said officers arrived and immediately entered the water to remove the single occupant. He was later taken to the hospital for further assistance, according to police. Police said all officers who entered the water were also taken to the hospital for evaluation as a precaution. More information will be released as it becomes available, according to police.
