Juveniles, Ages 12-14, Caught Trying To Steal Car In West Haven: PD

Officers apprehended the juveniles after they ran down streets and through several yards, according to police.

WEST HAVEN, CT — Three juveniles, ages 12 and 14, were arrested Saturday after they were caught trying to steal a car in West Haven, according to police.

Police received a report around 7:15 p.m. on April 12 from a motorist who saw three juveniles trying to steal a Hyundai in the area of Spring Street, according to police.

Officers responded to the area, and one officer encountered the juveniles, who police said immediately ran.

“Police pursued the individuals down streets and through several yards,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Thanks to excellent communication between the officers, all three juveniles were apprehended shortly thereafter.”

Police said the juveniles were between the ages of 12 and 14.

All three were taken to the West Haven Police Detention Center, where they were processed on numerous charges, according to police.

“Another great job by both the public and the officers involved,” police wrote.
