Man Accused Of Threatening Potential Neighbor In West Haven: Reports
The man is accused of threatening a person, who was looking to rent an apartment, with what looked like a gun, according to reports.
WEST HAVEN, CT — A West Haven man is accused of threatening a potential neighbor with what was later determined to be an airsoft rifle, according to multiple reports, including WTNH News 8.
WTNH reports the incident happened around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of Washington Avenue.
The man, identified as 56-year-old Ceferino Diaz Jr., is accused of telling a person who had been looking at an apartment to rent to “get out of here” while pointing what appeared to be a rifle, according to the New Haven Register.

The Register reports Diaz, who went into his home and wouldn’t come out, was arrested after an hours-long standoff that included a response from the West Haven SWAT team.
Diaz later admitted to police that he had been drinking before the incident, according to WTNH.
