Wegman’s Grocery Store Eyed For Site In West Haven: Report
West Haven officials are trying to entice the popular grocery chain to open a new store in the city, according to a report.
WEST HAVEN, CT — West Haven Mayor Dorinda Borer and city officials are scheduled to have a preliminary meeting with developers from Wegman’s in their attempt to bring the popular grocery chain to the city, according to the New Haven Register.
The Register reports West Haven officials are pitching the formerly proposed The Haven luxury mall property on Water Street as the primary location for a Wegman’s store.
Borer told the Register that the city has offered to roll out the red carpet in “terms of financial incentives” for Wegman’s if they are willing to come to West Haven.

Wegman’s opened its first location in Connecticut in Norwalk in July.
