Man Seriously Injured After Lighting Firework At Festival In West Haven: Reports
The man was taken to the hospital after the incident.
WEST HAVEN, CT — A 36-year-old man suffered serious injuries to his hands after he ignited a firework during the Savin Rock Festival in West Haven over the weekend, according to multiple reports, including WTNH News 8.
WTNH reports the man picked up an unexploded firework with a small wick and tried to light it.
The incident happened around 1:45 p.m. on Saturday and emergency crews stationed at the festival grounds heard the explosion and quickly responded to the scene, according to the New Haven Register.

NBC Connecticut reports crews also extinguished a small brush fire that resulted from the firework being lit.
