Adriano Ruggiero Sr. obituary: Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven

Adriano Ruggiero Sr., 87 of East Haven entered into rest peacefully at home on December 17, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 9, 1938 in Scauri, Italy to Nicola and Fiorenza (Simione) Ruggiero. Adriano is survived by his three devoted children; Adriano Ruggiero Jr. (Rosa) of East Haven, Richard Ruggiero of Wallingford and Tammy Adamo of East Haven along with seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces/nephews. He is also survived by his siblings; Walter Ruggiero (Mary Lou), Vera Brescia (David), Silvana Brescia and Anna Maria Fazikas, and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Ruggiero.

Adriano is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Alessandro Ruggiero.

Prior to his retirement in 2002 Adriano was custom tailor. He ran his business in East Haven for many years and served everyone from neighbors to celebrities. He enjoyed his retirement by taking frequent trips to Italy to visit family and friends and also traveling through Europe.

He was also a talented painter and could sometimes be found displaying his work at local art shows. He was an exceptional cook and would take joy in providing his family with bread, manicotti, and many other homemade items. He was a wonderful devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother and friend to all. He will be missed greatly and fondly remembered by all that knew him.

Family will receive friends on Monday December 22, 2025 from 10 AM until the time of service at 12 PM (NOON) in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven CT. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a charity of your choice in memory of our dad, Adriano Ruggiero. Rest in Peace Dad!
