Obituary: Andrew “Dutch” Robinson, Sr., 81, of West Haven
Dutch was a proud U.S. Army veteran, loving and devoted family man and a dedicated employee of Ansonia Brass for many years.
WEST HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) Andrew “Dutch” Robinson, Sr., 81, of West Haven went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2022. Born in Florence, South Carolina, Dutch was one of eight children of the late Luther and Bernice (Howard) Robinson.
Dutch served three years in the US Army and was trained as a sharpshooter being honorably discharged in 1965. He retired from Ansonia Brass where he worked as a caster of materials.
Dutch was most proud of the legacy he leaves behind, his large and loving family which includes his four children Jeffrey and wife Lynn, Andrea Robinson, Andrew Robinson Jr. and the late Felicia Edwards; 17 grandchildren Meghan, Jacqueline, Jasmine, Vita, Jeffrey Jr., Javon, Kadrina, Angel, Jalarya, Christopher, Tyler, Mariah, Amiah, Devon, Sadea, Samar, Jennifer; 25 great-grandchildren; his former wife Julia Tavares and siblings Bernice, Operdella, Patricia and Thomas Robinson and the late Shirley, Joseph and Luther Robinson.
He was a proud and caring father, always available to dispense pearls of wisdom and advice ranging from life lessons to cooking tips! He enjoyed all sorts of television programs including westerns and sports. and numerous vacations with Julia.
A celebration honoring the life of Andrew Robinson Sr. will take place on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at West Haven Funeral Home, 662 Savin Avenue, West Haven.
Playing of taps and military flag folding will begin at 12:30.
