Obituary: Anita Pagogna, 89, of West Haven

Anita loved to dance, cherished her family, was an avid fan of Betty Boop and was involved in many local organizations.

WEST HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) Anita Pagogna, age 89, of West Haven passed away, with her family at her side, on December 22, 2021. She was born in Indianapolis, IN, daughter of the late Victor and Teresa Moncada.

Anita is survived by her loving children, Denise (Steven) Rubino of West Haven, Diane Crocco of Orange, Terese (John) O’Shea of Milford and Edward (Cindy) Pagogna of West Haven, her adoring grandchildren, Frankie, Jacquie, Kevin, Alexandra, Stefanie, Sara, Robbie, Amanda and Samantha, and her 5 cherished great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her companion, of over 30 years, Armand DeAngelis and her former husband Francis Pagogna. She was predeceased by her grandchildren, Victoria and Sean as well as her stepbrother Matthew Demezzo, and son-in-law Robert Crocco, Sr.

Anita worked many jobs over the years, most recently as a computer operator for Yale New Haven Hospital, prior to her retirement.

She was a very active woman, who loved to dance. Anita was a proud member of the Red Hatters Society and the Orange Blossoms Tap Dance Team at Gloria Jeans Studio of Dance.

She was a member of the West Haven IA Club, Women Auxiliary and volunteered many hours at the Clothes Closet at the Beacon on the Hill, for about 15 years.

Anita loved her bingo and was an avid fan of Betty Boop.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4th, from 9-11am at the West Haven Funeral Home. A funeral service will commence at the funeral home at 11am.

Interment will follow in Orange Center Cemetery.
