Obituary: Ann Dolores Tangredi, 91, of West Haven

WEST HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) Ann Dolores Tangredi, 91, of West Haven, died on January 24, 2022. Born in New Haven on September 30, 1930, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Theresa (DiGioia) Tangredi.

Ann is survived by her beloved sister Carmel Malard of Hamden; nieces Charlene, Maria, Jo-Ann, Irene, and Elaine; as well as many friends who shared in Ann’s zest for life. Additionally predeceased by sister Mary Velardi; and brothers Bernard, Joseph, & Nicholas Tangredi.

Ann was noted for her kind, considerate, and loving disposition. Her athleticism seemed to come naturally, as she excelled in golf, bowling, and tennis.

She adored to be surrounded by nature, with interests in gardening and travel to Florida, California, and particularly her favored Cape Cod- of which she returned annually. Ann will be remembered for her talented singing ability, for it was commonplace for her to beautifully carry a tune without provocation.

Her faith was of utmost importance, illustrated by her lifelong dedication to Our Lady of Victory Church, as a parishioner. Another testament to Ann’s sense of diligence and dedication was her dutiful 45-year career with The New Haven Manufacturing Company.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Ann’s longtime and dear friend Frances DeFonzo, who, together with caregiver Alina Grzadko, fostered peace, comfort, and health.
Arrangements have been entrusted to West Haven Funeral Home at the Green.

Calling hours will take place on Friday, January 28th, from 9 to 10:30am, at which time a procession will depart the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Agnes Church, Milford, at 11 o’clock. Interment will immediately follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
