Obituary: Antonette Verlezza, 93, of West Haven
Antonette, a devoted wife and mother, was a lifetime homemaker, outstanding cook and dedicated Yankees fan.

WEST HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) Antonette Verlezza passed away under Hospice Care on Saturday, March 12, 2022 after a short illness. She was 93 years old. Her husband of 60 years, Frank J. Verlezza, predeceased her.
Antonette lived her entire life in West Haven, where she attended and graduated from West Haven High School.
She was a lifetime homemaker, and an outstanding cook, primarily of traditional Italian dishes.
She is survived by two children, Anthony F. (Beth) Verlezza and Diane Verlezza who served as her live in caretaker for several years; her grandson Michael (Alice) Verlezza and two great-granddaughters. She was predeceased by her brother Aneilo (Jerry) Gerardi, and her two sisters Jenny Downes and Anna Losnes.
She enjoyed going to the beach, watching old movies, crocheting, playing casino slot machines and the New York Yankees baseball team.
She loved to be with her family, and particularly encourage them to eat heartily! She was a wonderful mother and dedicated wife, always putting everyone else first.
Visitation will take place Thursday from 1 – 2pm at the West Haven Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 2pm at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
