Obituary: David R. Miserendino, 89, of West Haven

David proudly served 40 years for the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer.

WEST HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) David R. Miserendino, age 89, of West Haven and North Kingstown, RI, passed away at the West Haven Veterans Administration Hospital on January 20, 2022.

He was the loving husband of the late Marilyn Meyers Miserendino. David was born in New Haven, son of the late Dominick and Julia Monaco Miserendino.

He is survived by his children, Cheryl Burt of RI, David R. Miserendino Jr. of PA and Scott B. Miserendino of VA, his 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

He is also survived by his longtime companion Mary “Mutzie” Vigilone. David was predeceased by his sons Edward and Wayne Miserendino, his daughter Kim Miserendino and his great grandson Wyatt Matthew Krei and his siblings, Lillian Hammer, Dorothy Ventrigilio, Benjamin and Evelyn Miserendino.

David proudly retired from the US Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. His total time of service was 40 years, 29 of which were active duty.

Hours for visitation will be held on Friday from 4-7pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green.

A funeral service will commence at the funeral home at 7pm. Interment will be Saturday morning at Elm Grove Cemetery, North Kingstown, RI at 10am, with military honors.
