Obituary: Florence “Floss” Mary Montesi, 98, of West Haven
Floss worked as a receptionist at Yale New Haven Hospital and was very active with the West Haven and Allingtown Seniors.

WEST HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) Florence “Floss” Mary Montesi, age 98, of West Haven passed away peacefully on March 17, 2021. She was the loving wife of the late Lavinio Montesi.
Florence was born in New Haven, daughter of the late John H. and Mary S. Kelly Durkin.
She is survived by her children, Janice Leahy and her husband Mike of MA and Mark Montesi of West Haven, her grandson Christopher Leahy, her great grandchildren Owen, Lizzie & Claire, her niece Kathleen Durkin and her great nieces Sarah & Alicia Horensavitz.

Florence was predeceased by her brothers, John, Walter and Vincent Durkin.
Prior to her retirement, Floss was a receptionist at Yale New Haven Hospital.

She loved to cook, she read cook books like others read novels. Both Floss and Lavinio loved to travel, taking frequent trips with NARFE and also enjoyed their regular Friday nights at Biagetti’s.
She was very active with the West Haven and Allingtown Seniors.
All Funeral Services will be private in care of West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Floss’ name to the Dementia Society of America PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901 www.dementiasociety.org.
