WEST HAVEN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Frederick (Fred) Charles Danner Jr., age 79, formerly of Northford, Connecticut, passed away Tuesday April 12, 2022 at Masonicare in Wallingford, Connecticut.

Fred was born on August 16, 1942 and grew up in West Haven, Connecticut. He is survived by his four children, Scott Danner (Nicole), Adam Danner (Lauren), Craig Danner (Jessica), and Hope Rapini (Michael); his six grandchildren, Torre, Faith, Jacob, Nathan, Hunter and Blake; and many other family members and friends who provided love and support throughout the years.

Fred lost his wife of 48 years Sharon Danner (Sherry) in 2018. She was the love of his life, partner, confidant…his everything. As the years went by and life slowed down a little for them, they seemingly grew even closer. He was never the same since her passing.

Fred was an only child raised solely for much of his life by his mother Blanche. His extended family were like siblings and his friends were like his family. Fred loved car racing, from behind the wheel in his new ‘63 Corvette down on Savin Rock to mostly watching it on TV.

Fred worked as a machinist for many years at various facilities. He was proud of his work but even more proud of the long-standing friendships he developed with his co-workers.

Fred also enjoyed going on cruises with his wife, family and friends having visited most of the islands in the Caribbean. He loved his pets and maintained a constant mix of dogs and cats in his home throughout his life.

There aren’t enough words to express appreciation to the various caretakers at Masonicare for their care and comfort during these recent times.
