Obituary: Kent Steele Peckham, 86, of West Haven
Kent proudly served as a U.S. Marine, worked in the dairy industry for many years, cherished his dogs and was deeply devoted to his family.
WEST HAVEN, CT - (From Keenan Funeral Home) Kent Steele Peckham, age 86, of West Haven, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 7, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Cora Scott Peckham.
Kent was born in New Haven on April 2, 1935 to the late Earl and Doris (Miller) Peckham.
Kent was a United States Marine Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked in the dairy industry for over 40 years, retiring from Guida’s Dairy in New Britain, CT.
To his family, he was their very own Superman. Kent spent his time walking around with his metal detector, working on model trains and collecting WWI and WWII guns. For over 50 years he played Pinochle every Saturday night.
He loved his dogs, but most of all he loved his family and playing with his grandkids.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, Cora, he is survived by his children Deborah (Edward) Smith of Hamden, Mark (Cheryl) Peckham of East Haddam, Lora (John) Kelly of Stormville, NY and Kimberly (James) Glatz of Greentown, PA, his sister Lila Morgan of Georgia, 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers, William and Howard Peckham.
Family and friends may visit Keenan Funeral Home on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Interment to follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park with full military honors.
