Obituary: Lois M. Dunphy, 74, of West Haven

Lois cherished spending time with loved ones, traveling across New England and was a devoted friend to many.

WEST HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) Lois M. Dunphy, age 74, of West Haven passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born in New Haven, daughter of the late John and Louise Pospesil Miller.

Lois is survived by her loving children, Michael (Erin) Dunphy II of Newburyport, Massachusetts and Jeanine (Tom Clement) Dunphy of West Haven, her former husband Michael Dunphy of West Haven, her adoring grandchildren Fiona, Abbie, and Michael III., her cherished siblings, John (Anna Mary) Miller of North Haven, Lorraine Centi of NV, her loving nieces and nephews, her “adopted” daughter Michelle Caprio, and her countless friends and their endless love and support.

Prior to her retirement, Lois worked for over 20 years for Dr. William Driscoll. During her free moments, she was an active member of the Church of the Holy Spirit, where her faith and congregation supported her through this challenging journey.

Finally, Lois enjoyed nothing more than time with family, including traveling throughout New England making friends wherever she went.

Lois was grateful to all her nurses at Smilow Cancer Center, especially her APRN, Carol Staugaard, who carefully cared for her throughout this journey, giving her hope every step of the way.

The hours for visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-7pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green.

Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Thursday morning at 9:30 for a Funeral Service at the Church of the Holy Spirit at 10am (Mask will be required). Interment will be private.
