Obituary: Marilyn F. Hunter, 97, of West Haven
Marilyn, known as generous, caring and compassionate, dedicated many years as a nurse and as a volunteer for many local groups.

WEST HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) Marilyn F. Hunter, 97, of West Haven, peacefully passed from this life into the arms of our Lord, and the warm embrace of deceased loved ones, on Monday, Jan 24th, 2022, in her home, surrounded by her family.
Marilyn grew up in West Haven and attended St. Lawrence and West Haven High School. A graduate of St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Hartford, Marilyn worked as a Pediatric Nurse before becoming a full-time mom.
Later, she returned to nursing, caring for the elderly at “The Orange”, She then joined OGIG, now Connecticut Costal OB-GYN, where she devoted her time caring for women and expectant mothers, until her retirement.
Throughout her career, she was known as “Mrs. Hunter, Mrs. H., and Nana.”
Marilyn was a woman of faith who devoted countless hours as a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, since 1952. She was generous, caring, and compassionate to all of her family, friends, and neighbors.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her mother Monica Long Farnham, her husband William C., and her daughter Diane. She is survived, and will be remembered with love, by her daughters Mary Ann, Catherine, and Joan, her beloved grandsons Michael (Victoria) Percopo, Trevor Fanning, Patrick Joslin, and Eric Hunter, and two great-granddaughters Alexa (Michael) Oates and Chelsea Percopo.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating her life will be held on Monday, January 31st at 10 am at Our Lady of Victory Parish, 300 Captain Thomas Blvd, West Haven. Burial will follow the mass at All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Ave., North Haven.
The family would like to thank the staff of Home Care Plus in Milford for their care and support.
To honor her life, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
