Obituary: Wayne L Goodwin, 67, of West Haven
Wayne, a jack-of-all trades, was known for his genuine smile, infectious laugh, positivity, optimism, sense of humor and love of his family.

WEST HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) Wayne L Goodwin, 67, of West Haven, beloved husband of Donna Brouillard-Goodwin, passed away February 11, 2022, with his loving wife and daughters by his side.
Born on August 16, 1954, he was the son of the late Shirley Swanson and Richard Goodwin and stepson to the late Eleanor A. Goodwin.
Wayne graduated Amity High School in 1973 and began his career immediately after. After many years at the Knights of Columbus in New Haven, he retired in 2018. Wayne was a family man who was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.
With a genuine smile and an infectious laugh, Wayne approached everything in life with positivity, optimism, and a sense of humor.
He had a love for the outdoors, was an avid fisherman, and loved his time camping at Witches Meadow while making memories with his camping family. He enjoyed attending the sporting events of his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and was their #1 fan! He never thought twice to lend a hand, spending a lot of his “free time” helping someone on a home improvement project.
He was truly a Jack-of-all trades.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Donna, daughters, Nicole (Tony) Tomassi and Crystal Goodwin. His stepchildren, Tania (Rick) Ondek, Tara (Anthony) Izzo; Jonathan (Kristy) Brouillard; grandchildren, Ava, Aubrianna, Madison, Griffin, Caden, Alaina, Katelyn, Logan, AJ, Alexa, Isabelle, and Brielle. Siblings, Richard (Doreen) Goodwin, Donna (Robert) Amento, Tom (Sandy) Goodwin; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Wayne was predeceased by his brother Neil Swanson and sisters Kim Swanson & Marilyn “Cookie" Goodwin.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the team at Smilow Cancer Care Center in Orange for their care, and support during his 17 year-long battle with Multiple Myeloma, as well as the team at Yale New Haven Hospital for their care during his brief, recent illness.
Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday February 16, 2022, at the West Haven Funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smilow Cancer Hospital. Family requests that masks are worn during visitation.
