A lifelong athlete and Army veteran, he turned his passion for sports into a 50-year career in sporting goods sales after excelling as a soccer goalie, standout baseball pitcher and hitter, Twilight League player, and later served on various athletic boards, earning multiple honors including the Gold Bat Award and induction into the West Haven Hall of Fame.
