Special Election Announced In West Haven

The special election will be held in the fall.

WEST HAVEN, CT — A special election has been ordered to complete the term of retiring West Haven Probate Judge Mark DeGennaro, Gov. Ned Lamont announced Tuesday.

The special election will be held on the same date as the next general election, which is Nov. 4, 2025. DeGennaro is one of three Connecticut probate judges who are slated to retire over the course of the next year.

Lamont said he specifically chose to hold these special elections on the same date as the next general election because doing so will enable each impacted municipality to avoid any added costs of holding separate elections for this purpose, according to a news release.
