18-Year-Old, Juveniles Caught Trying To Break Into Home In West Haven: PD

WEST HAVEN, CT — An 18-year-old West Haven resident and two juveniles were arrested Sunday after police said they were caught trying to break into a home in West Haven.
Police responded around 5:30 p.m. on April 13 to an address on Rockdale Road on an anonymous report of three people wearing ski masks trying to kick in the door at that location.
The first-arriving officer saw the three suspects, who police said immediately ran from the scene. A description was broadcast to responding officers who had not yet arrived on scene, according to police.

Police said two of the suspects were seen running through the Carrigan School property toward Malcom Road and up to the Promise Land Church.

Police said one was identified as 18-year-old Jonnie St. Pierre of West Haven, and the second was a juvenile.
The third suspect, also a juvenile, was found on Rockdale Road and also taken into custody, according to police.
All three were transported to the West Haven Police Detention Center and arrested, police said.
St. Pierre was charged with criminal attempt to commit third-degree burglary and interfering with an officer.

Police said St. Pierre was held on bond, while the juveniles were issued juvenile summonses and released to their parents.
“Another great job by the West Haven Police Department—excellent communication and a prompt response made possible thanks to the complainant’s immediate call for help,” police wrote in a post on Facebook.
