Two Pets Killed In West Haven Blaze: FD

No humans were injured, according to the fire department.

WEST HAVEN, CT — Two dogs perished in a Tuesday afternoon fire on Winslow Drive, according to the fire department.

Firefighters were able to rescue one dog from the residence. Five people living there were displaced, according to Rafael Zayas, fire chief for the West Shore Fire District.

No people were injured, Zayas said.

West Shore Fire District units were dispatched at 3:12 p.m. after receiving reports of smoke and flames coming from the building.

Firefighters got the fire under control within 20 minutes, according to Zayas.

The Fire Marshal’s office is currently investigating the cause.
