33-Year-Old Easton Man Found Dead, Police Call Death 'Suspicious Event'

An Easton man was found dead and police have classified the investigation as 'suspicious.' BREAKING

EASTON, CT — Police have identified a deceased man found in New London as Ricardo Joseph Dasilva, 33, of Westwood Drive in Easton, the New London Day reports. Dasilva had been staying in New London on Lee Avenue. New London police said Saturday that they are investigating Dasilva's death and have called it a "suspicious event" in a news release Saturday.

At 8:30 a.m. Saturday, New London Police officers were dispatched to the area of 177 Nautilus Drive, #6 to investigate the report of a deceased person/suspicious event, police said. After arriving to the address and surveying the scene and body of the deceased person, the State's Attorney's Office and Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime Unit were called in to assist with the investigation, police said.
New London patrol officers and detectives, along with the representatives from the State's Attorney's Office and Connecticut State Police Major Crime Unit remain on scene during the investigation, police said.

At this time, the event is considered an isolated incident with no threat to the public at large, police said. Anyone who may have been in the area of 177 Nautilus Drive, New London, CT on Friday during the late evening hours and heard or observed anything suspicious are asked to contact the New London Police Department Detective Bureau at (860)447-1481 or the Patrol Division at (860)447-5269.
