A Pickup Truck Collides with a School Bus in Easton

A bus carrying 18 school children was struck by a pickup truck in the rain on June 13, but no injuries were reported.

A 17-year-old Easton male was driving his pickup truck south on Eden Hill Road in heavy rain at around 3:01 p.m. on June 13 when he swerved to avoid running water in his lane while rounding a curve, then saw a school bus carrying 18 middle-school-age children coming from the other way, police said.

The driver slammed on his brakes, but could not avoid hitting the bus on the wet road, and struck it on its driver's side, according to police, who said there were no injuries.

Police said the pickup truck had front-end and driver side damage and the bus had driver side damage behind the front tire.
