Black Bear Put Down After Being Struck By Car In Easton
A black bear had to be put down after being struck by a car at the beginning of the week.
EASTON, CT – A black bear had to be put down after being struck by a car at the beginning of the week.
On Monday just before 6:30 p.m., the Easton Police Department responded to a report that a black bear had been struck by a car on Route 136 West of Wilson Road.
When officers arrived, they found a 125-pound bear suffering from serious injuries. According to CT DEEP, the bear was identified as having tag #211.

The bear had to be put down due to the injuries, police said.
According to police, the car that struck the bear drove away before officers arrived.
