Brush Fires Continue To Challenge Redding Emergency Workers
The Redding Fire & EMS Company tackled two "significant" brush fires over the weekend.

REDDING, CT — The Redding Fire & EMS Company tackled two "significant" brush fires over the weekend.
One fire was in a neighborhood, and another was a third of a mile into the Centennial Watershed State Forest, according to a social media post from Redding Fire & EMS Company #1.
Redding firefighters called in aid from West Redding Volunteer Fire Department, Georgetown Volunteer Fire Company, Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection, Bethel Fire & EMS, Weston Volunteer Fire Department, Easton, CT Volunteer Fire Department, Dodgingtown Volunteer Fire Company, No. 1. Inc., Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department, and the Redding Police Department. Also on deck was a wildfire crew from Idaho that has been working with DEEP during the current drought period.

Redding fire officials warned their Facebook followers against "cigarettes being tossed out of moving cars, power equipment being used on leaf piles, and other careless acts" as area wildfire risks persist.
