Easton, Connecticut, November 13, 2025 — The Easton Republican Town Committee proudly announces that, following the official recount completed on November 11, Dan Lent has been confirmed as the duly elected First Selectman of the Town of Easton.

In addition to this milestone victory, Republicans secured success across multiple races, including the town’s first-ever elected Planning and Zoning position, won by Lou DiPietro. These results reflect the community’s renewed commitment to responsible, transparent, and balanced local governance.

Incumbents Todd Johnston (Region 9 Board of Education) and Adam Bonoff (Board of Assessment Appeals) were both re-elected. Republicans also gained ground on the Zoning Board of Appeals, with victories by incumbent Jim Wright and newcomer Joseph Palmieri, who won by a strong margin.

“I am gratified to see so many Easton voters engaged in this year’s municipal election,” said Lent. “Now that the recount process is complete, I’m eager to get to work for the benefit of our town and every one of our residents — whether they voted for me or not. It’s clear that preserving and protecting Easton’s rural character remains a top priority, and I look forward to partnering with my fellow Selectmen, Kristi Sogofsky and Nick D’Addario, along with everyone in Town Hall, to achieve our shared goals.”

Three races in Easton’s 2025 municipal election were decided by narrow margins, prompting a state-mandated recanvass to verify results. In a joint statement, the registrars confirmed that the election was conducted securely, methodically, and with the utmost integrity — findings now affirmed by the final certified results.

The Easton RTC commends the registrars for their professionalism and transparency throughout the process — including maintaining a strict chain of custody, using freshly tested tabulators, and adhering to all state election laws and guidance from the Secretary of the State’s office.

“We are deeply grateful to the registrars, moderators, and volunteers who ensured every ballot was counted with accuracy and integrity,” said Darrell Harris, Chairman of the Easton RTC. “Their commitment to fairness and to upholding the democratic process reflects the very best of our community.”
