Easton Selectmen Approve Bids, Task Force Formation, Salary Increases And More
Easton Selectmen approve bids, form Aspetuck Health District task force, raise non-union salaries, and appoint members to town committees
EASTON, CT — The Easton Board of Selectmen approved several bids, formed a task force to review the Aspetuck Health District, and approved a salary increase for non-union employees during its July 17 meeting at Town Hall.
The board unanimously accepted an $11,000 bid for log removal and disposal awarded to Lenahan Land Clearing and Grinding, Inc., and a $107,500 contract for the 2026 Reappraisal and Revaluation Program awarded to Municipal Valuation Services, LLC.
Discussion on the formation of the Aspetuck Health District Task Force was tabled after members expressed concerns about the selection process. First Selectman David Bindelglass explained that task force members were chosen based on varied perspectives, relevant experience, and financial expertise.

The board unanimously approved a 3 percent retroactive salary increase for non-union employees effective July 1 for the fiscal year 2025-2026.
Several bond releases for driveway permits and zoning compliance were approved, including releases for permits at 41 Tuckahoe Road, 30 Far Horizons Drive, and 38 Far Horizons Drive.

The board accepted resignations from Jordan Baker-Kilner of the Land Preservation and Acquisition Authority and Jamie Weinstein of the Cemetery Committee, thanking both for their service. Multiple appointments and reappointments to town committees were also approved, including Doreen Collins to the Aspetuck Health District Board and Doug Dempsey to the Area 9 Cable Council.
During public comments, residents raised concerns about volunteer recruitment, zoning enforcement, and civility at town meetings. Board members emphasized the importance of respectful discourse and noted upcoming community events such as the Fireman’s Carnival and the Tunnels to Towers memorial exhibit scheduled for August 9.
