EASTON, CT — A 69-year-old Easton man faces multiple charges after police said he attempted to drive into a construction worker during a reported road rage incident in Wilton.

According to Wilton police, officers responded to Cheesespring Road near Old Driftway on Sept. 18 after witnesses reported a red Dodge Ram 5500 driving aggressively at a construction site. Investigators said the driver, identified as Craig K. Nelsen of Rockhouse Road, attempted to strike a worker at a fiber optic job site with his vehicle.

Nelsen was charged with first-degree attempted assault, second-degree breach of peace, and reckless driving. He was released after posting 7 percent of a $2,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Oct. 2 at Stamford Superior Court.
