Campaign Website

Party Affiliation: Democrat

Occupation: Small business owner: Fairfield School of Music LLC

Family: My husband, Dan, is a musician. He performs solo and with his band, Hitch and the Giddyup. He also manages our music school, Fairfield School of Music.

We have two kids, Ella and Danny. Ella is in 6th grade at Helen Keller Middle School; her hobbies include playing the flute, singing, dancing, and playing tennis. Danny is in 1st grade at Samuel Staples Elementary School and loves playing drums, Nintendo, dance, and baseball.

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government? No, although my father (Bob Ellwanger) is currently running for a seat on Fairfield's Board of Finance.

Previous public office, appointive or elective: No

Why are you seeking this office? I was asked to run, and I accepted because I love our town and want to serve our community in any way I can.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it: Ensuring Easton maintains its small-town, rural charm while prudently evolving where appropriate to meet the needs of generations to come.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post? As of now, the Republican candidates for this post have not released any information on themselves or their platform, so I can not speak to differences without making uninformed assumptions. I can say, however, that I will serve with integrity, humility, and respect for all of our institutions and citizens if elected.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign? Upholding the civil responsibilities and duties of Town Constable.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job? Organizing events for the community over many years, most notably Easton's annual summer concert series since 2017, Concerts on the Hill, as well as events with Easton Pride, such as Easton's first Pride Day celebration in 2021.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you? "Perfection is the enemy of good."

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

Originally from Fairfield, I've been an Easton resident for 9 years now. My husband and I opened our business, Fairfield School of Music, in 2012. Together we oversee a faculty of 20+ teachers who provide private lesson instruction to children and adults at our location on Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield.

I received degrees from NYU (BA in History; music minor) and Western CT State University (BA in Music). As a pianist, I perform occasionally with local bands and regularly as the Music Director of Christ Church Easton since 2007. I also volunteer as Secretary for the Easton Democratic Town Committee (2022–present) and as a member of the Easton Pride committee.

In my spare time I enjoy seeing live music, crocheting, and traveling in Tēla, our 1978 Volkswagen bus/mobile photo booth.
