Following Tuesday night’s report of a tie in the Region 9 Board of Education contest, the Moderator, Registrars, and party leaders reconvened Wednesday to review the recanvass results. During this review, officials identified and corrected a human transcription error made when manually transferring the accurate hand-count total for public posting.

After reconciliation, the verified results confirm Republican Todd Johnston as the winner over Democrat Leny Wallen-Friedman for Region 9 BoE, 1,549 to 1,535.
