Emmanuel Fair Returns September 15

will hold its annual Country Fair on Saturday, Sept. 15.

Now in its 106th running, and one of the oldest fairs in Connecticut, the fair will again feature “Good Goods,” a gigantic tag sale that allows fair visitors to stock up on great bargains, especially toys and jewelry.

The fair will take place on church grounds, rain or shine. Chris Coogan and his musical group will again be providing the music at the fair. Chris is a multi-talented entertainer who is rooted in the jazz and gospel traditions.

The silent auction will be offering up gift baskets, wine, professional services, plus tickets to sporting and cultural events, and dinners at local restaurants.

The team is led by Jill Faller and includes church members Rachelle Cinque, Johnna DeSantis, Megan Eckenberger and Chris Juneau, plus parish administrator Stephanie Larsen.

The collection of jewelry is already underway and donations are being accepted at the church office on the second floor of the parish hall. Jill Faller, fair coordinator, asks anyone wishing to donate jewelry to call ahead before dropping jewelry off.

Collection of other non-jewelry “Good Goods” items will begin a couple of weeksbefore fair day on Aug. 30 when the “Good Goods” tent has been set up.

Items needed include boutique items, kitchen/house wares, small furniture pieces (not upholstered and good condition), linens, artwork, frames, baskets, decorative items, knick-knacks, craft supplies, holiday decor, small working electrical items, tools, rust free bicycles, toys, books, records and CDs, plus complete sets of games and puzzles.
