REDDING, CT — Local police responded to seven motor vehicle incidents from April 1 through April 13, resulting in minor injuries in one case and several traffic infractions. Specific incident dates were not made available.
- On Blackrock Turnpike near Cross Highway, a northbound vehicle was rear-ended by another after stopping at a stop sign. No injuries were reported, and the second driver was issued a summons for driving without insurance.
- A vehicle traveling east on Old Redding Road veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole after the driver reportedly fell asleep, according to police. No injuries occurred. The driver received a warning for failure to maintain lane.
- Two vehicles traveling in opposite directions on Stepney Road made minor contact as they passed one another. No injuries or enforcement actions were reported.
- On another section of Blackrock Turnpike, a driver swerved to avoid an animal and struck a utility pole after leaving the roadway. The motorist was issued an infraction. No injuries were reported, though the vehicle sustained moderate damage.
- In the parking lot of Redding Ridge Market, two vehicles backing out of spaces collided. The incident resulted in minor damage and no enforcement action.
- A vehicle stopped on Glen Road for a school bus was rear-ended by another. No injuries occurred, and the second driver received a warning for traveling too fast.
- On Blackrock Turnpike, a northbound vehicle left the road and struck a tree after the driver fell asleep, according to the police report. The driver and a passenger were transported to Danbury Hospital with minor injuries. No enforcement action was taken.
