Easton First Selectman Observes World Ovarian Cancer Day
Town of Easton First Selectman Dr. David Bindelglass issued a Proclamation to Bring Awareness to Disease Impacting Local Residents

World Ovarian Cancer Day was established in 2013 by a group of leaders from ovarian cancer advocacy organizations around the world to have one day of the year to globally raise awareness in solidarity in the fight against ovarian cancer. It is supported by close to 200 organizations from around the world.
Ovarian Cancer is the 7th most common cancer in women in the world. It is the 8th most common cause of death from cancer in women in the world. Every year, about 341,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer around the globe. Annually about 207,000 die with this disease every year around the world.
Town of Easton First Selectman Dr. David Bindelglass issued a Town Proclamation earlier this month in support of World Ovarian Cancer Day and presented it to Easton resident Noreen Forde, who is an ovarian cancer survivor and thriver. Noreen volunteers her time with Clearity, a nonprofit dedicated to helping families impacted by this disease.
